eNFS [Netstream, Inc]

eNFS is a software-only product that substantially increases theperformance of an NFS server. NFS file writing speed is increased by twoto five times for files larger than 8 KB. eNFS allows files to be writtenat 600 to 700 KB per second in comparison to only 100 to 130 KB persecond for NFS.eNFS also increases overall system throughput by 40 to 60 percent. eNFSprovides NFS with an extremely efficient disk scheduling algorithm thatdecreases an NFS server's disk utilization by as much as 80 percent. eNFSutilizes the parallelism naturally provided by biod process on NFSclients in order to process many NFS write requests in parallel ratherthan in sequence.eNFS also includes a set of network utility programs that enable systemadministrators to easily configure their servers for optimal performanceand decrease the likelihood of lost packets on the network.
